LOWER SHOSHONE – Salmon flies are still hatching in the canyon below the dam. Nymph, dry/dropper and streamer rigs are all producing. Chubbies, rubber legs, Duracells, Optic Nerves, pine squirrel leeches, thin mints and rusty trombones.
BIG HORN / WIND – Toss dry/dropper or nymph rigs in the shallower faster riffles. Tricos have trout up in the mornings. Perdigons, sow bugs, worms, Ray Charles, pine squirrel leeches, yuk bugs, thin mints, 9 lb hammers, cowbell craws, yuk dusters and zirdles.
NORTH FORK – Fishing great all the way down to the reservoir. Caddis are out. Toss stonefly nymphs like Pat’s Rubber Legs and 20 Inchers and jigged soft hackles like Duracells and Optic Nerves under a Chubby or a bobber.
SOUTH FORK – Golden stones are popping. Dry/dropper fishing with a Chubby and rubber legs or jigged attractor nymph like a Duracell or CDC Pheasant Tail below it has been good. Stripping streamers has also been consistent.
CLARK’S FORK – Dry/dropper and streamer rigs are producing. Chubbies, rubber legs, Duracells, Optic Nerves, CDC Pheasant Tails and rusty trombones.
GREYBULL / WOOD – Both are fishing good. Attractor dry flies like Micro Chubbies, stimulators, and Amy’s Ants are working well. Chubby with a Duracell or CDC Pheasant Tail below it will keep your rod bent all day.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Salmon Flies, golden stones, green and grey drakes, caddis and PMD’s on the Yellowstone above the falls. The NE Corner (Lamar, Soda Butte, Slough) streams are coming into shape and should see hatches of Salmon Flies, PMD’s, caddis and green drakes. Also worth having a few cicada patterns if fishing anywhere in the park as they are prolific this year!
NEWTON LAKES – Getting warm. Damsels, ants, beetles, chironomids, scuds and balanced leeches.
LUCE/HOGAN RESERVOIRS – Getting warm. Damsels, ants, beetles, chironomids, scuds and balanced leeches.
