LOWER SHOSHONE – Still a few salmon flies in the canyon below the dam. Nymph, dry/dropper and streamer rigs are all producing. Chubbies, rubber legs, Duracells, Optic Nerves, pine squirrel leeches, thin mints and rusty trombones.
BIG HORN / WIND – Yellow Sallies are out. Toss dry/dropper or nymph rigs in the shallower faster riffles. Perdigons, sow bugs, worms, Ray Charles, pine squirrel leeches, yuk bugs, thin mints, 9 lb hammers, cowbell craws, yuk dusters and zirdles.
NORTH FORK – Fishing great all the way down to the reservoir. Dry/dropper or nymph rigs will be your best bet. Focus on the slower, deeper water with big stonefly nymphs like Pat’s Rubber Legs and 20 Inchers and jigged soft hackles like Duracells and Optic Nerves.
SOUTH FORK – Golden stones are popping up by Valley and the dry/dropper fishing with a Chubby and rubber legs below it has been good. Nymph rigs with stoneflies and jigged attractor nypmhs as well as stripping streamers have also been consistent.
CLARK’S FORK – Good visibility all the way down to the border. Nymph, dry/dropper and streamer rigs are all producing. Chubbies, rubber legs, Duracells, Optic Nerves and rusty trombones.
GREYBULL / WOOD – Both are fishing well. Chubby with a Duracell below it will keep your rod bent all day.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Salmon flies, caddis and PMD’s on the Yellowstone above the falls. Green drakes shouldn’t be far behind. The NE Corner (Lamar, Soda Butte, Slough) streams are coming into shape and should see hatches of PMD’s, caddis and green drakes.
NEWTON LAKES – Getting warm. Chironomids and balanced leeches under a bobber. Strip scuds, damsels or callibaetis nymphs. Damsels, callibaetis, ants and beetles on the surface.
LUCE/HOGAN RESERVOIRS – Getting warm. Chironomids and balanced leeches under a bobber. Strip scuds, damsels or callibaetis nymphs. Damsels, callibaetis, ants and beetles on the surface.
