LOWER SHOSHONE – The river is in pretty good shape all the way down to Alkali Creek. Look for heads up on caddis. Nymph, dry/dropper and streamer rigs are all producing.
BIG HORN / WIND – Nymphing has been the most productive method but you can also fish dry/dropper or streamers. Perdigons, sow bugs, worms, Ray Charles, pine squirrel leeches, yuk bugs, and zirdles. Lots of moss already.
NORTH FORK – The river is now closed below Newton Creek until July 1st! Clarity will drop and flows will continue to stair step up this week as warmer weather returns before it likely blows out completely.
SOUTH FORK – Clarity will drop and flows will continue to stair step up this week as warmer weather returns before it likely blows out completely.
CLARK’S FORK – Clarity will drop and flows will continue to stair step up this week as warmer weather returns before it likely blows out completely.
GREYBULL / WOOD – Clarity will drop and flows will continue to stair step up this week as warmer weather returns before it likely blows out completely.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Look for rising fish on blue winged olives and pale morning duns on the Firehole, Gibbon and Madison. Swinging soft hackles is also a good option. Yellowstone Lake should be fishing well with a chironomid or balanced leech under a bobber, or sight fish the cruisers with a streamer.
NEWTON LAKES – Chironomids and balanced leeches under a bobber. Strip scuds or callibaetis nymphs. Callibaetis, ants and beetles on the surface.
LUCE/HOGAN RESERVOIRS – Chironomids and balanced leeches under a bobber. Strip scuds or callibaetis nymphs. Callibaetis, ants and beetles on the surface.
